Thanks to the cooperation of the members of the school for about a year, the storage capacity of Korea University has been reduced by about 6.22PB. We would like to thank the school members for their efforts.
* Google Capacity reduction Progress: 8.4PB → 2.18PB, approximately 6.22PB reduction (as of 5th December, 2022)
As a result of your cooperation, we were able to reduce 6.22PB, but Google's storage capacity allocated to Korea University is 100TB, and Korea University's storage capacity is 2.18PB (as of 5th December, 2022), which is more than 2.17PB.
In preparation for the Google’s introduction of a billing policy for schools that exceed Google's quota, if the storage capacity is organized below 100TB, Google services (such as Google Drive) can be used normally, so we will reduce the storage capacity of Korea University to below 100TB as much as possible.
We ask for your understanding that we are unable to provide Google services continuously, and we need active cooperation from school members in organizing Google storage capacity.
2. User-specific capacity management policy implementation procedures
1) Apply google account capacity limit by status
2) On December 7th, lock target (over-capacity user) account
3) Account locked users submit account unlock forms

(Even if you reduce the capacity, it will not be unlocked automatically. You must submit an forms to unlock your account.)
4) After submitting forms, the lock will be automatically released in 2-3 hours
5) Unlock for 72 hours, re-lock account after 72 hours of overcapacity use
6) 202212.28 (Wed): Completely delete all accounts that have over-capacity(data recovery is permanently impossible).
※ Deleting Google's account capacity may take hours to days, so please delete the capacity as soon as you see the notice.
3. Google Capacity Limit by Status(If you use it in excess of capacity, your account will be locked.)
- Expelled/retired/graduated students: 100MB or less of storage capacity
- Enrollment/Completion/Leave of Absence: 500MB or less of storage capacity
- current faculty members/staff: 1GB or less of storage capacity

5. You can use the service by clicking on the portal system's Office365, NaverWorks menu to sign up.
- Office365: Shared drives (OneDrive, Teams), Excel, PowerPoint, etc
- NaverWorks: Calendar, Messages, To Do, Survey, etc
